Embarking on a Kilimanjaro climb entails a challenging week-long trek that navigates through diverse ecosystems.
The journey commences with an ascent through the acacia forest, accompanied by the melodic calls of birds and other natural sounds. Progressing further, you enter a drier zone where the wind intensifies, and the surroundings feature sparse vegetation, including striking groundsels and lobelias. Continuing the trek, you navigate through tussocks while traversing the vast Shira Plateau, often witnessing a breathtaking view over a bank of clouds that separates you from the rest of the world. As you approach the mountain's summit, you enter an arctic zone, where each breath produces a puff of smoke in the frigid air.

2.Mount Kenya
Mount Kenya at a height of 5199m, is the second highest peak in Africa. There are 12 remnant glaciers on the mountain, all receding rapidly, and four secondary peaks that sit at the head of the U-shaped glacial valleys. With its rugged glacier-clad summits and forested middle slopes, Mount Kenya is one of the most impressive landscapes in East Africa.
The evolution and ecology of its afro-alpine flora provide an outstanding example of ecological and biological processes. Through the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy and Ngare Ndare Forest Reserve, the property also incorporates lower lying scenic foothills and arid habitats of high biodiversity, situated in the ecological transition zone between the mountain ecosystem and the semi-arid savanna grasslands. The lake is fed from the northern Simba River and the eastern Makuyuni River. Plus, it forms part of the Rift Valley catchment during the rainy seasons. In recent years the lakes water level has risen significantly and skeletons of waterlogged trees mark the old shoreline.
Park inhabitants include buffalos, hippos, baboons, waterbucks, impalas, giraffes, zebras, and wildebeests. There is a healthy population of leopards, but sightings are rare due to the thick vegetation. In the past, the park was renowned for large populations of elephants and tree-climbing lions, however, since the lakes water levels have risen sightings are rarer.
